At Seniors Holiday Travel Team, our people are everything. We have a great team of passionate travel experts, ready and willing to help you create your dream holiday. And remember, they’re only a phone call away!
I spent 15 months living and working in Europe and the UK from 1978 to 1980, then didn’t travel very much for the next 20 years, apart from a fortnight in Bangkok and Pattaya Beach in 1988. In 1998, I started Seniors Holiday Travel Team, and since then I have travelled extensively, conducting ‘product testing’ with my family on behalf of our 100,000 travel club members – a big responsibility that I take very seriously!
We’ve been on five Europe River Cruises (they are so wonderful), plus coach tours, high speed train trips, self-drive car travel and also city stay holidays in Europe, several trips to the USA, and we’ve also driven and travelled by train in western Canada. Our first family trip together was back in 1999 to Norfolk Island, and we now send 5 groups a year there, so all that ‘product testing’ does pay off!
My role at Seniors Holiday Travel Team includes a lot of ‘engine room’ tasks such as marketing, coordinating our Privilege Club, product development and also ‘big picture’ thinking to help the business to continue to grow, so we can continue to offer our members more.
I love hearing our team talk about the wonderful holidays they arrange for our customers, converting dreams into reality. Even though I now have my Seniors Card, I can’t imagine retiring as I’m having too much fun working with our team!
I love Europe and my favourite city is Paris. One of our twin daughters, Emma had been there 4 times before she turned 18 – not fair!

After living in Whistler for a year and pondering my next step, I decided to come home and study Tourism. I love travelling and seeing new places, so I thought, why not get into the travel industry! Since working in travel, I have been lucky enough to watch the sun set over the Angkor Wat temples in Cambodia, eat my way around Vietnam and cruise the rivers of Europe, just to name a few.
I love my role as Product Manager at Seniors Holiday Travel Team, as I have the opportunity to create amazing adventures that take our lovely customers to every corner of the world!

Find a city map to keep on hand, so you can explore new destinations with ease.
My love of travel began at 16, when I won a scholarship for a student exchange to The Netherlands for a year. Not only was I able to experience the Dutch way of life and enjoy their awesome food, but I also learnt the language. During my exchange, I had the opportunity to visit a lot of Europe, so naturally once I came home, it wasn’t long before I got itchy feet again… I well and truly had the travel bug!
After finishing my Multimedia Degree in 2011, I moved to England and worked there for two years. I have worked in Marketing since 2008, and have a great passion for the travel industry.
My most recent trip overseas was to China – a hiking tour of the Great Wall, and I can’t wait for my next adventure!
The Netherlands – because it has so much more to offer than just Amsterdam!
All over Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, New Zealand, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Wales, USA and Vatican City.
Always have your camera handy. You never know when that perfect photo opportunity will arise, and you can treasure these moments forever!
After leaving school, I was lucky enough to travel extensively and live overseas, where I worked in a number of different occupations. I’ve worked with Perry and the team at Seniors Holiday Travel Team since 2000 – first as a travel consultant, which I really enjoyed. However, more recently my role has focussed on Administration and Accounts. But I still love travelling and do it as much as possible!

Be adventurous, open-minded and don’t expect everything to be the same as at home. Also, keep smiling – it gets you a long way in tricky situations!
I inherited my love of travel from my adventurous parents. We spent most of my childhood travelling between our homes in Germany and New Zealand with plenty of stopovers along the way. Originally hailing from Hamburg, the most beautiful city in Germany, I am an enthusiast of all things German. My formal education and past career was in Finance; that all changed in 2010 when I moved to Australia and left Finance behind to align my career with my ongoing travel obsession.
Fun Fact: Hamburg has more bridges than any other city in the world, and more canals than London and Venice and Amsterdam combined!
I spent 7 months travelling in 2016, with a focus on India and Asia. It was an interesting experience to say the least! I have also travelled extensively in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Next is Africa!
Having been in the industry for some time, I have a well-rounded knowledge of destinations and travel styles, which I can draw on to really individualise every holiday, and inspire you with some out-of-the-box suggestions. Some specialist past experience areas are Cruise, Adventure Travel, New Zealand Luxury, and Round the World airfares. I love a challenge, and I love putting together unique itineraries with exciting stopovers, so ask me for something a bit different, if you dare!
South India for Beaches, Malta for History, Penang for Food, and Germany for everything else!

Some basic phrases in the local language, especially thank you. I like to download a language app onto my phone before I go, it really helps with tricky pronunciation!
Make the most of your stopovers! Visit a new destination, and arrive refreshed, to get even more value from your holiday.
Originally hailing from London, I grew up in North Queensland when my father, an aircraft mechanic, was seconded to Townsville. His tales of working on Concord and passion for aviation certainly rubbed off on me. I moved back to London, travelling extensively through Europe and upon my return, decided to move into the travel industry and have enjoyed every minute of it!
Some of my favourite travel experiences include being surrounded by the breathtaking ice-sculptures in Harbin, witnessing the Tour De France, climbing dunes in the Arabian Desert, horse riding on the Welsh Brecon Beacon’s, wine tasting in Germany’s Rhine Gorge, walking with wild Wombats at Cradle Mountain and photographing the stunning architecture of Barcelona.
Aside from visiting every country on earth, my ultimate travel dream is to one day publish a poetry book featuring my favourite travel photographs.
Ireland – with a multitude of castles steeped in history, surrounded by rolling green hills, it makes for a sight you’ll never forget. With a distinctive culture and heart-warming hospitality, it’s a magical destination.
Every corner of Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, USA/Hawaii, Wales and Vatican City.
For a quintessentially genuine experience, don’t order off the menu. Instead, ask for something a local would eat!
For the past five years I have worked in retail which really showed me how much I enjoy working with people to achieve their goals. This experience also lead me to pursue a Bachelor degree in Psychological Science. Since graduating, I feel that seeing the world is now my priority.
Bitten by the travel bug when I was 16, my first international adventure was to the tropical beaches of Vanuatu which really opened my eyes to the beauty of other cultures. In Australia, Victoria has always held a special place in my heart from the old gold mines of Sovereign Hill to the bustling Melbourne city.
I am so excited to see more of the world and to help clients achieve their travel dreams.
Most of Australia and Vanuatu

After 8 years working as a Business Development Manager for the largest Entertainment Company in Australia, I transitioned into the travel industry. In my time within the travel industry, I have been lucky enough to travel to 6 different countries, over a short period of time. This has allowed me to gain the knowledge, to allow confidence from my customers for their own journeys and experiences. In my role as a Travel Consultant, I have been a part of many life changing events, from weddings, to proposals, to celebrations, and being part of the excitement of a life changing trip drives me everyday to get the best for my customers.

Born and raised in New South Wales, my family and I travelled the state extensively, enjoying camping trips, snow holidays and outback adventures. My work history has involved mainly administrative positions, so the move into the travel industry was a complete shift for me!
My first overseas holiday was to Papua New Guinea at 16. Since then, the travel bug has taken me to over 20 countries. I lived in the UK for nearly 5 years and Israel for 8 years. As a teenager, I was lucky enough to travel to Europe and America with the support of my parents and my great-grandfather. Ever since, I have been addicted! My favourite thing about travelling is the opportunity to learn from different cultures and see unique sites. In addition to travelling to 40 countries, I recently spent a year living in Fiji where I spent some time volunteering at Fiji School for the Blind. From this experience I’ve had a growing interest in improving my knowledge of accessible travel.
I am currently studying a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Commerce, majoring in Tourism Management. 2017 will be my fourth year in the travel industry and I’m excited by the opportunities that will unfold while working with the Seniors Holiday Travel Team!

Music: to keep me entertained during long journeys.
Plan your travels around the seasons and events! I had a February free for travelling once, so we chose to travel to the Carnival of Venice. It was a once in a lifetime experience. In the future, I’m hoping for a holiday sometime between May and September so that I can see the salmon run in Alaska!
I started my travel career in the 70s and was lucky enough to escort my first ever 30 day tour to Europe and the Greek Islands! In the 80s, I took a few years off from the operational side of travel and delved into the marketing area. I have held various positions within the travel industry since then, and I started with Seniors Holiday Travel Team in 2014 as a Senior Travel Consultant.
I have created and escorted many fantastic group tours to Europe, New Zealand, Asia and Norfolk Island, to name just a few. I love my consulting role, and am happy to say I’m still looking after clients I’ve had since the early 80s, who I now consider to be good friends!

Download it before you leave home, and make sure your friends have it too. Then you can call and text for free when you’re in a free Wi-Fi area.
Growing up I was always fascinated by the world, I remember being regularly absorbed by my father’s encyclopaedia. My mother’s parent were born in Italy and moved to Australia after World War Two. I was raised with their strong presence and became very fond of them and their stories of Italy.
The yearning to discover my roots become stronger each year, so after school I decided to go live in Italy and learn the language, get to know my many relatives and immerse myself in the culture, traditions and food. During that time I travelled throughout Italy extensively and also visited thirteen other European countries, further developing my passion for planning trips, discovering new places and cultures and researching the best things to do in each city.
Undeniably I love Italy but also have a soft spot for the Greek Islands and have been there four times.

Having grown up in Malaysia, I left at the age of 20 to see the world. Living in London for several years, I travelled widely through Europe. I then ventured to Australia where I studied tourism.
I’ve work in the travel industry for nearly two decades and have won many travel industry awards in Queensland and Nationally. I joined Seniors Holiday Travel Team in 2006.

I am currently studying a bachelor of Property Economics, with a long term dream of pursuing my love for property outside of Australia. Since experiencing my first overseas trip at the age of 10, my bucket list of destinations to visit has only continued to grow.
I am lucky enough to have a father that lives in Dubai whom I visit at least once a year. Whilst visiting him, I always try to make the most of the proximity to Europe and other bucket list destinations of mine! I absolutely love the excitement and the freedom of travelling, and I cannot wait to see more of the world.
All over Australia, Canada, Croatia, Dubai, France, Italy, Singapore, Spain, The Seychelles and USA.
A fully charged phone.
Write a day-to-day diary including what you did and what you saw. It is surprising how much you forget, especially on a long trip!
My first overseas trip was only a couple of years ago on a group tour through California and it was one of the most memorable holidays I’ve had yet. This solidified my love for travel as I made lifelong friends, amazing memories and ate way too much.
I’ve come from the advertising industry with no travel background besides my own holidays so this role has been an exciting challenge. I love the excitement of booking a holiday and planning the trip because you have something to look forward to and it’s great that I can do this on the daily!
Australia, Hong Kong, United States of America and Vietnam.
Lucas’ Paw Paw ointment (not an ad, I promise).
Bring a neck pillow on long flights. Your neck will thank you for it and it’s also good for power naps.

I’m Country born and breed, I spent most of my working life in the city and worked as a Public Servant, etired, went halves in a coffee shop and after selling that I have been able to pursue my passion – TRAVEL (besides my 4 children and 7 grand-children, who put the joy in my heart).
I’m currently in the process of moving and renovating my home which doesn’t leave much time for my hobbies of reading, knitting, crocheting, sewing and patchwork. But still loving life.
I am truly blessed to be a Tour Host with Seniors Holiday Travel Team. We go to so many exciting places and I really enjoy having new adventures and making great friends along the way.
My goodness, how do you choose, I guess Hawai’i known as the “Big Island” is probably my favourite. Hawaii was my 1st overseas trip back in 2000, we went to 3 of the Hawaiian islands, O’ahu, Maui and the Big Island. Big Island was so different, landing in Kona in a lava field, the lifestyle and people are so friendly and laid back.
All over Australia, Barcelona, Canada, China, England, France, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Scotland, USA, Vietnam and Wales.
My passport (Just kidding although it is essential). I can’t leave home without my good luck charms which I’ve been given to keep me safe. Also I can’t leave home without my baby laptop which helps me take notes of our exciting journey, and store the many memories/photos etc.
Start each day with the thought: – “Today is going to be the BEST day of my life”. Take in the atmosphere, people and culture, there is so much to absorb, make the most of every travel day, there are wonderful experiences and memories to be made that will stay with you forever. So, relax and enjoy every minute. After all isn’t life all about Living, Loving and most important Laughing!!!
After growing up in England and travelling the length and breadth of the UK along with some holidays to Europe I participated in an overland expedition to India and Sri Lanka in a convoy of six buses where we sang and danced in concerts along the way.
I taught at a high school for a while before embarking on another overland trip but this time on my own and I continued on to Australia where I had a teaching post waiting for me.
My intention to continue on around the world was interrupted when I married an Australian and so I am still here. Apart from the occasional trip back to England my wonderlust was put on hold whilst bringing up four children, teaching, then working in a financial adviser’s office plus volunteering as a Scout Leader and a Girl Guide Leader. The itchy feet returned and with husband in tow I have recommenced my travels trying to visit slightly ‘less popular’ or well-known places.
My favourite destination ever would have to be Nepal although South America ( Machu Pitchu and Iguassu Falls and trekking over the Andes) is a very close second.
All over Australia, Afghanistan, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Iran, Ireland, Isle of Man, Liechenstein, Malaysia, Nepal, Norfolk Island, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Scotland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, USA, Wales and Yugoslavia.
Put a shoe that you are going to wear on departure from your hotel into the safe with your passport and travel documents so that you never leave any of them behind.
I have been fortunate enough to do a lot of travelling. My first travelling experiences were travelling in Australia in my late teens. I had my 18th birthday in Alice Springs. During my late thirties I started travelling overseas, my first journey being to Hong Kong. I have travelled regularly since then.
I retired from full time work in management and I joined the Travel Team in 2013 and have escorted several tours since then. I love meeting people who are excited about visiting new places and I find seeing these places with them exciting.
The next country I visit. But I love Paris and South Africa.

My iPad. I love to email home. When my camera fails it’s a back up, I also download all my photos onto it.
Be adventurous, open minded and enjoy different experiences and the diversities of the cultures of other countries. Take it all in.
Smile. It goes a long way.
I’m a retired teacher with a large family and big garden to keep me busy. When I’m home I enjoy yoga and U3A classes and our neighbourhood book club.
When I was a child my aunt sent me postcards from all around the world and I have followed in her footsteps. Travel has always been my passion – I have been to many different countries over the years and now I also enjoy sharing travel experiences with others. I have been a Seniors Holiday Travel Team Tour Host for several years and I love it! My groups really enjoy our wonderful holidays and people we meet comment on how happy we look. I’ve made many good friends along the way and always look forward to meeting new Travel Team members.
All over Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Croatia, Denmark, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Malta, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Sicily, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Thailand, The Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, USA, Vanuatu, Vietnam and Wales.
I can’t leave home without my iPad.
Expect people everywhere to be kind and helpful and be respectful to them. Your smile is your best travel accessory.
After a career as an accountant and company secretary, I stepped back from full-time work in 2013 and now spend time with my husband (fellow travel host, Peter Francis) managing a ski lodge during the winter in the Victorian Alps, having a role on the Board of an industry superannuation fund and volunteering my time as a Justice of the Peace at my local shopping centre.
And of course I love travelling – I am a recent convert to cruising, both river and ocean cruising but enjoy all forms of travel and fortunately have been able to travel extensively in the past few years and have accumulated many wonderful travel memories.
I couldn’t possibly pick one – Amalfi – Italy, Budapest – Hungary, La Roque Gageac – France and Bryce Canyon – USA.
All over Australia, Andorra, Antigua, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, China, Cook Islands, Czech Republic, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, The Netherlands, Turkey, USA, US Virgin Islands, Wales.
My four wheel ultra-light suitcase.
1. Take with you only what you can carry – you never know when you may find yourself at a hotel or a train station where there are no lifts.
2. If intending to use your phone or tablet overseas check with your service provider before leaving home regarding using your devices overseas and the costs involved – you do not want to find your device is not readily usable overseas and worry family and friends who are expecting to hear from you.
I had a career in Education in training and Social Justice policy and was always drawn to issues of justice and fairness which is why my own travel took me to places in the world where people live so differently from my privileged life here in Australia. If there is a richness of experience that has developed in me it is due solely to the many people in the world who have shared their lives with me.
Everyone has been different. Some for the raw beauty that takes your breath away. The countries from the Mediterranean through to China who gave the western world so much knowledge. And places like South America that just radiate with music and celebration of culture.
All over Australia, Albania, Antarctica, Arctic Regions, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kazakstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Loas, Lesotho, Libya, Macedonia, Malawi, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Montenegro, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, South Georgia, Spain, St Helena Island, Swaziland, Sweden, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, UAE, UK, USA, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
I couldn’t go anywhere without a map, a guide book and a lot of curiosity and interest about the world.
Travel light. I’ve learnt to travel with clothes that layer, wash out in a hotel basin and fit in a very small bag.
From my first venture overseas in my twenties I have been fortunate enough to be able to build on that early experience with an emphasis on social enjoyment of the areas visited and interacting with the varying different cultures that are always present to observe and respect.
My working life was spent in the building products supply industry in the main part with BHP Building Products/Bluescope Steel in Queensland. I transitioned from a work environment by embracing volunteering and have kept an interest in ‘people’ by also becoming involved with the travel industry as a Seniors Holiday Travel Team Tour Host.
As much as I enjoy and learn when accompanying overseas travel groups to far exotic lands, I’m sure many will agree there is no place like home, hence my favourite destination.
All over Australia, Alaska, Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Peru, Russia, Singapore, Thailand and USA.
My sense of humour.
Enjoy every moment. It may seem strange and unusual but above all, it is the reason why we travel, to experience the world.
“The world is a book and those that do not travel read only one page” St Augustine. And because I love to read, so I travel: 6 continents; 56 countries; 50 overseas trips; 30 Seniors Holiday Travel Team tours.
I have travelled by plane, train and automobile, as well as coach, ship and even donkey. But my favourite way to travel is snow skis – if travel is my passion, snow skiing is my obsession and I love chasing the white stuff around the world each year and managing a ski lodge in the Australian Alps each winter.
But, more than anything, I enjoy sharing my travels – with friends, family and everyone I have the pleasure of touring with. An experience is so much more fun when it can be shared with like minded people.
When I’m not travelling, I enjoy volunteering my time – as a Brisbane Airport Ambassador and as a Brisbane Greeter. Interacting with so many new people on their own journeys is exhilarating.
I couldn’t possibly pick one – Tofino – Canada, Dordogne Valley – France, Sintra – Portugal and Budapest – Hungary.
All over Australia, Andorra, Antigua, Austria, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Nepal, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, US Virgin Isles, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Wales, Yugoslavia.
My sense of adventure and enthusiasm for the experiences ahead.
Save your favourite meal as a treat for when you get home, so you can immerse yourself in the customs, culture and cuisine of the places you visit; take a smile, some patience and a couple of simple words in the local language.
My love of the travel industry commenced in 1969, when I joined TAA as a flight attendant. I flew with the airline until 1971, when I transferred to TAA Reservations in Brisbane.
My husband and I relocated to Sydney, where I joined Captain Cook Cruises as a cruise hostess on Sydney Harbour.
I retired for a number of years to bring up my family, before joining ID Tours South Pacific, which was a Conference and Incentive Company based in Sydney and escorted Tour groups around Australia and New Zealand for Lindblad, an American Inbound Tour Company.
At the completion of World Expo 88 in Brisbane, I was appointed Assistant Visitor Service Coordinator for the Southbank Parklands, I roll which I fulfilled for two years. In 1999, I joined Qantas and worked in the Brisbane International and Domestic Lounges until I retired in 2015.
I now look forward to many adventures with Seniors Holiday Travel Team.
All over Australia, Alaska, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Dubai, England, Fiji, Finland, France, Greece, Honolulu, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Majorca, New Zealand, Norway, Noumea, Papua New Guinea, Portugal, Russia, Samoa, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, USA, Vanuatu and Wales.
Carry copies of your passport and itinerary and have your medications in your carry-on luggage.
