Discover what Far North Queensland has to offer, on this 14 day exclusive Travel Team small group tour. Three different rail journeys each offering a totally different type of scenery, from lush rainforest to the rich, red dirt of the Outback.
Rail is one of the best ways to discover the Far North of Queensland and this small group tour doesn’t disappoint with its three included rail journeys. Departing Brisbane, we board the Spirit of Queensland for our overnight journey to Cairns where we will stay for two nights.
You’ll be surprised by the magnificent landscape on the way to the marvellous Cobbold Gorge. For the next two nights, you’ll be able to relax while overlooking the outback in the beautiful infinity pool at your accommodation. On the way to Karumba, you’ll have the chance to view precious minerals and gems as well as visit the famous ‘Purple Pub’ in Normanton. What better way to farewell Karumba then by watching the sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria on a dinner cruise.
You’ll then board you’re second rail journey on The Gulflander (otherwise known as the “Tin Hare”) on an adventure through some of Queensland’s most inaccessible country. You can almost feel the Gulflander’s colourful history. The driver is a wealth of information and will answer any questions on the way to Mt Surprise where we will depart and spend the following three nights. A leisurely coach ride will take you back to Cairns for a two night stay before the journey home on the Spirit of Queensland.
This tour is a great experience as it shows the off the magnificence of the Far North Queensland and all it has to offer.
