This unique tour gives you the opportunity to visit the hallowed ground of the Kokoda Track, without the need to join a gruelling 10-day trek. Beginning in Port Moresby, we travel to Owers’ Corner (the start of the track) by four-wheel drive. We then fly to the end of the track at Kokoda village, and explore the battlefields in the area. On November 3 we will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the recapture of Kokoda, with a ceremonial flag-raising on the same spot Australian troops raised their flag in 1942. The tour concludes with a visit to the beachhead battlefields at Buna, Gona and Sanananda. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit key sites on the Kokoda Track, and to pay your respects to the 2000 Australians who were killed or wounded in this pivotal WWII campaign.
